Text
(1)Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Department of Corrections or Oregon Corrections Enterprises may enter into a contract with a person for the purchase or donation of fruit, vegetables or other crops for use or consumption in state institutions. The contract may provide that any or all labor required inside or outside of the Department of Corrections institutions to harvest, load and transport the fruit, vegetables or other crop shall be performed by adults in custody confined in such institutions. The department or Oregon Corrections Enterprises may enter into a contract pursuant to this section only if it appears to the department or Oregon Corrections Enterprises that the contract would be advantageous.
