In addition to any other remedy provided by law the lien created by ORS 314.417 may be foreclosed in the following manner:

(1)The Director of the Department of Revenue shall issue an order directed to the sheriff of the county in which the property or interest in property subject to the lien is located, describing the property subject to the lien, and commanding the sheriff to seize the property specified and sell it to pay the amount shown on the order to be due. In the discretion of the director an order of like terms, force and effect may be issued and directed to any agent authorized to collect income taxes, and in the execution thereof the agent shall have all the powers conferred by law upon sheriffs but is entitled to no fee or compensation in excess of actual expenses paid in the
