(1)The governing body of any municipal or other public corporation, having a lien on any real property included in a foreclosure list or proceeding, may use its funds to remove the property from the list or proceeding, or to redeem the property after judgment of foreclosure. Such corporation shall have the same right of redemption as the owner of the property.
(2)Where any municipal or other public corporation so removes or redeems any real property on which it claims a lien, or pays any taxes thereon, the corporation may add to its lien the amount so disbursed and cause that amount to be noted on its lien docket.
