Text
Whenever any person has been indicted or accused on oath of any public offense, or thereof convicted, and a warrant of arrest has been issued, the magistrate issuing the warrant, or any judge of the Supreme Court, or of the Court of Appeals, or of a circuit or county court, may indorse thereon an order signed by the magistrate or judge authorizing the service thereof by telegraph. Thereupon the warrant and order may be sent by telegraph to any marshal, sheriff, constable or police officer and on receipt of the telegraphic copy thereof, as defined in ORS 165.840, by any such officer, the officer shall have the same authority and be under the same obligations to arrest, take into custody and detain the person as if the original warrant of arrest with the proper direction for its service duly
