§ 63-4018 — Members of armed forces or spouses - Registration

A.Any vessel or motor in this state which is not registered and licensed for the current year in the state of residence or domicile of any person who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or the spouse of such member owning a vessel or motor must be registered as provided by the Oklahoma Vessel and Motor Registration Act, except that any such vessel or motor which has been licensed in some other state by such member or spouse of such member while stationed in said other state may be operated in this state for the remainder of the year or period for which it is licensed. Any vessel or motor in this state which is not registered and licensed for the current year in the state of residence or domicile of any person who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or the spouse of such member owning a vessel or motor must be registered as provided by the Oklahoma Vessel and Motor Registration Act, except that any such vessel or motor which has been licensed in some other state by such member or spouse of such member while stationed in said other state may be operated in this state for the remainder of the year or period for which it is licensed. If the vessel or motor currently is registered with the Armed Forces of the United States rather than being registered in a state and the member is transferred to a duty station within this state pursuant to military orders, the member or spouse of such member owning the vessel or motor shall not be required to register the vessel or motor in this state for a period of thirty (30) days after the date the member is required to report for duty by said military. B. Any person who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States who is a resident of this state and who is stationed in this state or spouse of such person may make application for a certificate of registration pursuant to the provisions of this section. C. Any person who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, or spouse applying for a registration of any such vessel or motor shall submit an appropriate statement, to be attached to the vessel or motor registration application, showing the following: A description of the vessel or motor owned by applicant; the state and address of the applicant's legal residence or domicile; that applicant or applicant's spouse is on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States assigned or stationed at a named location in compliance with official military orders. The statement shall be signed by the applicant and certified to by a proper officer of the organization to which applicant is assigned for duty, or where the applicant is the spouse of such member serving in a foreign country the statement shall be signed by said spouse under the penalties of perjury.
