treatment. No hospital or blood donor organization shall require either preplacement or replacement of blood as a condition of treatment. Every statement of policy to or request of a patient or his next of kin by a physician or the personnel of a hospital or a blood donor organization regarding preplacement or replacement of blood through voluntary donations on behalf of the patient pursuant to any scheduled transfusion of whole blood or one or more of the component parts of whole blood, shall be made in a manner not calculated or likely to result in a marked increase in anxiety or emotional disturbance on the part of the patient or his next of kin.
