A.If funds are available, the Oklahoma Medical Center shall design and implement a statewide general public education program concerning: 1. The need for bone marrow donors; 2. The procedures required to become registered as a potential bone marrow donor, including procedures for determining the tissue type of a person; and 3. The medical procedures a donor must undergo to donate bone marrow or other sources of blood stem cells.
B.If funds are available, the Oklahoma Medical Center shall make special efforts to educate and recruit citizens of this state with a special emphasis on minority populations to volunteer as potential bone marrow donors.
