Text
An election to authorize a levy under the provisions of the preceding section may be called by the board of county commissioners, in its official discretion. Such election may also be called by initiative petition filed with the county clerk, signed by sixteen percent (16%) of the legal voters of the county, such percent to be based upon the total number of votes cast at the last general election in the county for the state office receiving the highest number of votes at such election in the county.
