Text

A.Every county or combination of counties desirous of establishing a mental health center and/or facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities shall establish a community mental health board and/or intellectual disability governing board each of which shall be composed of not less than seven (7) members. The members of such governing boards shall be appointed by the board of county commissioners of the county. The term of office of members of the governing board shall be three (3) years, except that of the members first appointed the term of three members shall be for one (1) year, and the term of two members shall be for two (2) years. All members shall serve without pay.
