Text

A.The Chief Medical Officer shall serve at the discretion and pleasure of the State Commissioner of Health.
B.The Chief Medical Officer must: 1. Be a resident of the State of Oklahoma; and 2. Be licensed and in good standing as a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy in Oklahoma.
C.With the approval of the State Commissioner of Health, the Chief Medical Officer may maintain a clinical practice to retain expertise and remain current in his or her specialized field.
D.The Chief Medical Officer may: 1. Advise the Commissioner and agency staff in all matters related to public health and effective delivery of public health services; 2. Provide professional judgment, medical and public health guidance to the Commissioner and other department leadership to ensure that health policy and progr
