Liens. Each unit created under the provisions of this act shall be a body politic and corporate, capable of suing, being sued and contracting as such in its own name. Each such unit shall be authorized on behalf and for the account of all the owners of the oil and gas rights within the unit area, without profit to the unit, to supervise, manage and conduct the further development and operations for the production of the oil and gas from the unit area, pursuant to the powers conferred, and subject to the limitations imposed by the provisions of this act and by the plan of unitization. The obligation or liability of the lessee or other owners of the oil and gas rights in the several separately-owned tracts for the payment of unit expense shall at all times be several and not joint or collect
