law enforcement officers on communication. The Department of Public Safety, in consultation with Service Oklahoma, the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and other entities or individuals with expertise in autism, shall develop a program to assist and train law enforcement officers to effectively communicate with a person who has been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder by a licensed primary care physician, licensed psychologist, or licensed psychiatrist.
