A.As used in this section, the term "traffic signal preemption device" shall mean a device designed for use by authorized emergency vehicles to improve traffic movement by temporarily controlling signalized intersections.
B.It shall be unlawful for a person to possess, use, or interfere with a traffic signal preemption device unless: 1. The person is the operator of an authorized emergency vehicle upon which the device is installed; and 2. The person is responding to an existing or potential emergency and there is a threat of immediate danger to life or property which reasonably requires the use of the device in order to protect the life, safety, health, or property of another person.
