§ 40-74 — Educational qualifications required of child before

employment. No child under the age of sixteen (16) years shall be employed or permitted to work in any of the occupations specified in Section 71 of this title unless such child is able to read and write, or shall have attended some school during the preceding year for the time that attendance is compulsory under the laws.
