- Powers and duties. There is hereby established a bureau of boiler inspection in the Department of Labor under the direction of the chief boiler inspector, who shall have at the time of appointment a valid commission issued in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and shall be responsible to the Commissioner of Labor or his duly authorized representative for the supervision, inspection and testing of boilers and pressure vessels throughout the state.

B.The bureau of boiler inspection shall be furnished with sufficient personnel, deputy inspectors and clerical aides to perform the assigned duties with the limits prescribed by the Commissioner of Labor.
