A.The Insurance Commissioner shall approve independent review organizations eligible to be assigned to conduct external reviews under the Uniform Health Carrier External Review Act.
B.In order to be eligible for approval by the Commissioner under this section to conduct external reviews under the Uniform Health Carrier External Review Act an independent review organization: 1. Except as otherwise provided in this section, shall be accredited by a nationally recognized private accrediting entity that the Commissioner has determined has independent review organization accreditation standards that are equivalent to or exceed the minimum qualifications for independent review organizations established under Section 6475.13 of this title; and 2.
