An insurer which otherwise qualifies therefor may be authorized to transact any one kind or combination of kinds of insurance as defined in Section 701 et seq. of this title, except: 1. A life insurer shall not be authorized to transact any other kind of insurance except accident and health and workers' compensation and employer liability equivalent insurance if otherwise qualified to do so on or after September 1, 1994, or if immediately prior to the effective date of this Code any life insurer lawfully held a subsisting certificate of authority granting it the right to transact in Oklahoma additional kinds of insurance other than accident and health, so long as the insurer is otherwise in compliance with this Code the Insurance Commissioner shall continue to authorize such insurer to tra
