A.The purpose of the Oklahoma Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association Act is to provide a mechanism for the payment of covered claims under certain insurance policies, to avoid excessive delay in payment, and to the extent provided in this act, minimize financial loss to claimants or policyholders because of the insolvency of an insurer, and to provide an association to assess the cost of protection among insurers.
B.The Oklahoma Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association Act shall be construed to effect the purpose provided for in subsection A of this section which shall constitute an aid and guide to interpretation of the Oklahoma Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association Act.
