An insurer may invest any of its funds in: 1. Bonds or other evidences of indebtedness of the United States of America or of any of its agencies or instrumentalities when such obligations are guaranteed as to principal and interest by the United States of America or any agency or instrumentality thereof. 2. Bonds or other evidences of indebtedness which are guaranteed as to principal and interest by the United States of America or by any agency or instrumentality of the United States of America. 3. Bonds, debentures or other securities of the following agencies of the government of the United States, whether or not such obligations are quaranteed by such government:

(a)Commodity credit corporation.
(b)Federal national mortgage association and stock thereof when acquired in connection wit
