§ 30-4-702 — Collection and settlement of accounts and appearance for

ward in suits - Compromise and settlement of claims. A guardian must settle all accounts of the ward, and demand, sue for, and receive all debts due to the ward, or may, with the approval of the court, compromise or compound for the same and give discharges to the debtors on receiving a fair and just settlement of such claim. A guardian shall appear for and represent the ward in all legal suits and proceedings, unless another person is appointed for that purpose as guardian or next friend. A guardian, with the approval of the court exercising jurisdiction in the suit or proceeding, may compromise and settle any claim made by, on behalf of or against the ward in such suit or proceeding.
