2024 — Classification system for felony offenses.

A.This act shall be known and may be cited as the "Oklahoma Sentencing Modernization Act of 2024".
B.There is hereby established a classification system for all felony criminal offenses provided for in the Oklahoma Statutes that places the offenses into classes on the basis of the severity of the offense and other factors of the commission of the crime. All felonies provided for by the Oklahoma Statutes shall be classified in the following manner: 1. "Class Y" is reserved for the crime of murder in the first degree as defined by Section 701.7 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and 2. "Class A1", "Class A2", "Class A3", "Class B1", "Class B2", "Class B3", "Class B4", "Class B5", "Class B6", "Class C1", "Class C2", "Class D1", "Class D2"
