Text

A.Every person who has in his or her possession any forged or counterfeited instrument, the forgery of which is hereinbefore declared to be punishable, other than such as are enumerated in the last section, knowing the same to be forged, counterfeited or falsely altered with intent to injure or defraud by uttering the same to be true, or as false, or by causing the same to be uttered, is punishable as follows: 1. If the value of the instrument is less than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), the person shall be guilty of misdemeanor forgery punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed one (1) year, or by a fine not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or by both such imprisonment and fine; 2. If the value of the instrument is One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)
