A.The board of trustees shall be composed of nine (9) members as follows: 1. One member shall be the county treasurer who shall be the treasurer of the board of trustees; 2. One member shall be the county clerk who shall be the clerk of the board of trustees; 3. One member shall be the chair of the board of county commissioners; 4. Four members to be elected by the employees of said county, provided in counties with a population in excess of five hundred thousand (500,000) according to the latest Federal Decennial Census, one of the four members shall be a retired member of the system. Retired members and beneficiaries of the system shall be allowed to vote in the election in which their representative is elected; and 5.
