There is hereby authorized the creation of the office of county building inspector for each county adopting a building and/or fire code. Said building inspector shall be appointed by the board of county commissioners at such compensation and terms as it may prescribe and deem necessary; provided, however, for any person to be eligible for the appointment to the office of building inspector he must have completed a minimum of a high school education and he must have a minimum of ten (10) years actual experience in the building and construction industry and be thoroughly familiar with building, construction, codes, methods and procedures.
