Text

A petition for incorporation of a city shall be filed with the board of county commissioners of the county in which the proposed city is located. The petition shall: 1. Be in writing; and 2. Be signed by at least thirty-five percent (35%) of the registered voters residing in the proposed city, as shown by the preceding general election. Each petition shall be on a separate sheet and shall be authenticated by the affidavit of at least one credible witness that the signatures are genuine and the signers of the petition are registered voters of the proposed city.
