marketplaces - Municipal buildings. The municipal governing body may purchase ground for, erect, establish, operate, and regulate retail or commercial redevelopment projects, market houses, and marketplaces. The governing body may contract with any person, company, or corporation for the erection, operation, and maintenance of such redevelopment projects, market houses, and marketplaces on terms and conditions and in such manner as may be necessary and proper pursuant to the authority granted to it by the Constitution and laws of this state to protect and preserve such projects and markets for the benefit of the municipality and its citizens.
