required for certain vehicles. Pursuant to Section 22-117 of this title, a municipality may by ordinance require the operator of any motor vehicle registered in this state to carry a current security verification form as defined in Article VI, Chapter 7 of Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes or equivalent form which has been issued by the Department. Any person producing proof that a current security verification form or equivalent form which has been issued by the Department was in force for such person at the time of the alleged offense shall be entitled to dismissal of such charge upon payment of court costs; however, if proof of security verification is presented to the court within forty-eight (48) hours after the violation, the charge shall be dismissed without payment of court costs.
