councilmembers per ward – Terms of office.

A.At the first general municipal election held in the odd- numbered year following adoption of the aldermanic form of government with two councilmembers per ward, the officers to be elected and their terms are as follows: 1. Four-year terms: One councilmember from each ward of the city; the mayor; the clerk; the marshal; and the street commissioner.
2.Two-year terms: One councilmember from each ward of the city; and the treasurer. At general municipal elections held thereafter, the successors of the officers whose terms are expiring shall be elected for four-year terms.
B.The governing body of a municipality with an aldermanic form of government shall provide that the office of the clerk, at the next election after the effective date of this ac
