(A)As used in this section, "fire department employer" means a fire department that employs a firefighter.
(B)A full-time firefighter who, on November 8, 1990, is a member of the public employees retirement system, in the employ of a fire department employer, and in a position in which the firefighter is required to satisfactorily complete or have satisfactorily completed a firefighter training course approved under former section3303.07or section4765.55or conducted under section3737.33of the Revised Code may, by giving notice to the Ohio police and fire pension fund within ninety days of November 8, 1990, elect to transfer to the fund.
