If it is desired to bury the body or cremated remains of any deceased veteran in any cemetery not having a burial plot as provided by section5901.22of the Revised Code, the board of county commissioners, any board of township trustees, or the legislative authority of any municipal corporation in the county in which the cemetery is situated may purchase a space for the grave of the veteran or the veteran's cremated remains, provide for the care of the plot, and pay the amount of the purchase price and maintenance cost from the funds in the treasury of the county, township, or municipal corporation.
