(A)If a state agency that enters into a contract with the department of medicaid under section5162.35of the Revised Code identifies that a medicaid overpayment has been made to a medicaid provider, the state agency may commence actions to recover the overpayment on behalf of the department.
(B)In recovering an overpayment pursuant to this section, a state agency shall comply with the following procedures:
(1)The state agency shall attempt to recover the overpayment by notifying the medicaid provider of the overpayment and requesting voluntary repayment. Not later than five business days after notifying the medicaid provider, the state agency shall notify the department in writing of the overpayment.
