The department of behavioral health may pay an amount for personal use to each individual residing in a state institution as described in section5119.14of the Revised Code who would be eligible for supplemental security income benefits at the reduced rate established by Title XVI of the "Social Security Act," 42 U.S.C. 1381 et seq., if the medicaid program covers services provided in such institutions. The amount paid by the department shall not exceed the reduced supplemental security income benefit rate established by Title XVI of the "Social Security Act."
