(A)Except as provided in divisions (B) and (C) of this section, each person who holds a license or certificate of registration issued under this chapter shall complete during the period that the license or certificate is in effect not less than thirty clock hours of continuing professional education as a condition of receiving a renewed license or certificate. To have a lapsed license or certificate of registration restored, a person shall complete the number of hours of continuing education specified by the counselor, social worker, and marriage and family therapist board in rules it shall adopt in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code. (A) Except as provided in divisions (B) and (C) of this section, each person who holds a license or certificate of registration issued under this chapter shall complete during the period that the license or certificate is in effect not less than thirty clock hours of continuing professional education as a condition of receiving a renewed license or certificate. The professional standards committees of the counselor, social worker, and marriage and family therapist board shall adopt rules in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code establishing standards and procedures to be followed by the committees in conducting the continuing education approval process, which shall include registering individuals and entities to provide continuing education programs approved by the board.

(B) In the case of a person who holds a certificate of registration issued under section4757.29of the Revised Code, the person shall complete during the period that the certificate is in effect not less than fifteen clock hours of continuing professional education as a condition of receiving a renewed certificate.

(C) The board may waive the continuing education requirements established under this section for persons who are unable to fulfill them because of military service, illness, residence abroad, or any other reason the committee considers acceptable.
