(A)An applicant for registration under section4729.90of the Revised Code shall file with the state board of pharmacy an application in the form and manner prescribed in rules adopted under section4729.94of the Revised Code. The application shall be accompanied by an application fee of sixty-five dollars, which shall not be returned if the applicant fails to qualify for registration.

(B)If the board is satisfied that the applicant meets the requirements of section4729.90of the Revised Code and any additional requirements established by the board and determines that the results of a criminal records check do not make the applicant ineligible, the board shall register the applicant as a registered pharmacy technician or certified pharmacy technician, as applicable.

(1) The applicant holds a license or is registered in another state.

(2) The applicant has satisfactory work experience, a government certification, or a private certification as described in that chapter as a pharmacy technician in a state that does not issue that license or registration.

(D) Registration as a registered pharmacy technician or certified pharmacy technician is valid for a two-year period, unless a different period is specified by the board in rules adopted under section4729.94of the Revised Code to account for initial registration, adjust registration renewal schedules, or to accommodate other matters the board considers appropriate.
