(A)The board of nursing shall review all applications received under section4723.83of the Revised Code. If an applicant meets the requirements of section4723.84of the Revised Code, the board shall issue a community health worker certificate to the applicant.

(B)Notwithstanding the requirements specified in section4723.84of the Revised Code, the board shall issue a community health worker certificate in accordance with Chapter 4796. of the Revised Code to an applicant if either of the following applies:

(1)The applicant holds a certificate or license in another state.

(2)The applicant has satisfactory work experience, a government certification, or a private certification as described in that chapter as a community health worker in a state that does not issue that certificate or lice

(A) The board of nursing shall review all applications received under section4723.83of the Revised Code. If an applicant meets the requirements of section4723.84of the Revised Code, the board shall issue a community health worker certificate to the applicant.

(B) Notwithstanding the requirements specified in section4723.84of the Revised Code, the board shall issue a community health worker certificate in accordance with Chapter 4796. of the Revised Code to an applicant if either of the following applies:

(1) The applicant holds a certificate or license in another state.

(2) The applicant has satisfactory work experience, a government certification, or a private certification as described in that chapter as a community health worker in a state that does not issue that certificate or license.

(C) A community health worker certificate issued under division (A) or (B) of this section expires biennially and may be renewed in accordance with the schedule and procedures established by the board in rules adopted under section4723.88of the Revised Code. To be eligible for renewal, an individual must complete the continuing education requirements established by the board in rules adopted under section4723.88of the Revised Code and meet all other requirements for renewal, as specified in the board's rules adopted under that section. If an applicant for renewal has successfully completed the continuing education requirements and meets all other requirements for renewal, the board shall issue a renewed community health worker certificate to the applicant.
