(A)The owner or lessee of any passenger car, noncommercial motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, or other vehicle of a class approved by the registrar of motor vehicles may apply to the registrar for the registration of the vehicle and issuance of "Independence Local Schools" license plates. The application for "Independence Local Schools" license plates may be combined with a request for a special reserved license plate under section4503.40or4503.42of the Revised Code. Upon receipt of the completed application and compliance with division (B) of this section, the registrar shall issue to the applicant the appropriate vehicle registration and a set of "Independence Local Schools" license plates with a validation sticker, or a validation sticker alone when required by section4503.191of the

(A) The owner or lessee of any passenger car, noncommercial motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, or other vehicle of a class approved by the registrar of motor vehicles may apply to the registrar for the registration of the vehicle and issuance of "Independence Local Schools" license plates. The application for "Independence Local Schools" license plates may be combined with a request for a special reserved license plate under section4503.40or4503.42of the Revised Code. Upon receipt of the completed application and compliance with division (B) of this section, the registrar shall issue to the applicant the appropriate vehicle registration and a set of "Independence Local Schools" license plates with a validation sticker, or a validation sticker alone when required by section4503.191of the Revised Code.

In addition to the letters and numbers ordinarily inscribed thereon, "Independence Local Schools" license plates shall display words and markings selected by representatives of the Independence local school district and that are approved by the registrar. "Independence Local Schools" license plates shall display county identification stickers that identify the county of registration as required under section4503.19of the Revised Code.

(B) "Independence Local Schools" license plates and validation stickers shall be issued upon payment of the regular license tax as prescribed under section4503.04of the Revised Code, any applicable motor vehicle tax levied under Chapter 4504. of the Revised Code, a bureau of motor vehicles administrative fee of ten dollars, the contribution specified in division (C)(1) of this section, and compliance with all other applicable laws relating to the registration of motor vehicles. If the application for "Independence Local Schools" license plates is combined with a request for a special reserved license plate under section4503.40or4503.42of the Revised Code, the license plates and validation sticker shall be issued upon payment of the contribution, fees, and taxes contained in this division and the additional fee prescribed under section4503.40or4503.42of the Revised Code.

(C)(1) For each application for registration and registration renewal submitted under this section, the registrar shall collect a contribution of thirty dollars. The registrar shall pay this contribution into the state treasury to the credit of the license plate contribution fund created in section4501.21of the Revised Code.

(2) The registrar shall pay the ten-dollar bureau administrative fee, the purpose of which is to compensate the bureau for additional services required in issuing "Independence Local Schools" license plates, into the state treasury to the credit of the public safety - highway purposes fund created in section4501.06of the Revised Code.
