A carrier or motor carrier may apply to the registrar of motor vehicles for the temporary registration of an apportioned motor vehicle. Upon receipt of an application for temporary registration of such a vehicle, the registrar may issue a temporary apportionment authority. The temporary registration document issued as part of the temporary apportionment authority shall identify the vehicle for which it is issued, list the jurisdictions in which the vehicle has been apportioned, the weight for each jurisdiction, the classification for which the vehicle has been registered, and any other information the registrar may require by rule.
