(A)For the purposes of section307.696of the Revised Code, to pay the expenses of administering the tax, and to pay any or all of the charge the board of elections makes against the county to hold the election on the question of levying the tax, or for those purposes and to provide revenues to the county for permanent improvements, the board of county commissioners may levy a tax on the sale of beer at a rate not to exceed sixteen cents per gallon, on the sale of cider at a rate not to exceed twenty-four cents per gallon, and on the sale of wine and mixed beverages at a rate not to exceed thirty-two cents per gallon.
