Text

The legislative authority of a municipal corporation, by resolution, may determine to have all the work in connection with the erection and maintenance of a sanitary plant and the acquisition of the necessary real estate therefor put under the control of a sanitary board. The sanitary board shall consist of two citizens from each of the two political parties casting the highest vote at the most recent municipal election. The members of the board shall be appointed by the mayor, with the consent and approval of the legislative authority, and shall serve for a term of two years. The board shall receive the reasonable compensation that the legislative authority prescribes.
