No person, who has a contagious or infectious disease, or who has been exposed to a contagious or infectious disease, may be sent or admitted to a prison; jail; workhouse; infirmary; children's home; state hospital or institution for persons who are blind, persons with mental illnesses, or persons with intellectual disabilities; school for the blind or deaf; or other state or county benevolent institution without first making known the facts concerning the illness or exposure to the superintendent or other person in charge thereof.
