During the first week of the regular session of the general assembly following a regular state election, the president of the senate, in the presence of a majority of the members of each house of the general assembly, shall open, announce, and canvass the abstracts of the votes cast for the offices of governor and lieutenant governor, secretary of state, auditor of state, treasurer of state, and attorney general, as contained in the Form No. 2 sent to the president of the senate as required by section3505.33of the Revised Code, and shall determine and declare the results of such election for such offices.
