Every governing board of an educational service center may employ an educational service center attendance officer, and may employ or appoint such assistants as the board deems advisable. The decision to employ an attendance officer shall be based on consultation with the districts that have entered into agreements with the educational service center under section3313.843or3313.845of the Revised Code and the services outlined in the agreements. The compensation and necessary traveling expenses of such attendance officer and assistants shall be paid out of the educational service center governing board fund. With the consent and approval of the judge of the juvenile court, a probation officer of the court may be designated as the service center attendance officer or as an assist
