(A)Except as provided in division (C) of this section, the state board of education shall adopt rules that establish an alternative principal license. The rules establishing an alternative principal license shall include a requirement that an applicant have obtained classroom teaching experience. Beginning on the effective date of the rules, the state board shall cease to issue temporary educator licenses pursuant to section3319.225of the Revised Code for employment as a principal. Any person who on the effective date of the rules holds a valid temporary educator license issued under that section and is employed as a principal shall be allowed to continue employment as a principal until the expiration of the license.
