(A)The state board of education shall adopt rules in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code, establishing the standards and requirements for obtaining a pre-service teacher permit. The permit shall be required for an individual who is enrolled in an educator preparation program in order to participate in any student classroom teaching or other training experience that involves students in any of grades pre-kindergarten through twelve in a public or chartered nonpublic school and that is required for completion of the program.
(B)Notwithstanding section3319.226of the Revised Code, a school district or school may employ an individual who holds a permit issued under this section as a substitute teacher. The individual may teach for up to the equivalent of one full semester, subje
