(A)In lieu of the assessment requirements prescribed by division (A) of section3313.618of the Revised Code or the requirements to demonstrate competency and earn diploma seals prescribed by division (B) of that section, a chartered nonpublic school may grant a high school diploma to a student who attains at least the designated score on an assessment approved by the department of education and workforce under division (B) of this section and selected by the school's governing authority.
(B)For purposes of division (A) of this section, the department shall approve assessments that meet the conditions specified under division (C) of this section and shall designate passing scores for each of those assessments.
