(A)Except as provided in division (B) of this section, and notwithstanding any other section of the Revised Code, the board of education of any city, exempted village, or local school district that operates a high school shall award high school credit for a course successfully completed outside of regular school hours by a student at an accredited post-secondary institution. Such course may either be free of charge or paid for by the parent, guardian, or custodian of the student. High school credit awarded for a course successfully completed under this section shall count toward the graduation requirements and subject area requirements of the school district.
