§ 3313.6113 — Committee to develop a list of industry-recognized credentials and licenses

(A) The director of education and workforce, in collaboration with the governor's office of workforce transformation and representatives of business organizations, shall establish a committee to develop a list of industry-recognized credentials and licenses that may be used to qualify for a high school diploma under section3313.618of the Revised Code and shall be used for state report card purposes under section3302.03of the Revised Code.

(B) The committee shall do the following:

(1) Establish criteria for acceptable industry-recognized credentials and licenses aligned with the in-demand jobs list published by the department of job and family services and other relevant demand data;

(2) Review and update the list of industry-recognized credentials and licenses at least biennially;

(3) Establish the criteria under which a student may use industry-recognized credentials to help qualify for a high school diploma under sections3313.618and3313.6114of the Revised Code;

(4) Update the list of industry-recognized credentials to include a driver's license obtained by a student through a driver education course offered by a school district in accordance with section3301.17of the Revised Code.

(C) For purposes of divisions (B)(2)(d), (C)(2)(e), and (D)(1)(j)(v) of section3302.03of the Revised Code, the department of education and workforce shall include only those students who earn an industry-recognized credential, or group of credentials, that meet the criteria established by the committee under this section to qualify for a high school diploma.
