The treasurer of each board of education shall keep an account of all school funds of the district. The treasurer shall receive all vouchers for payments and disbursements made to and by the board and preserve such vouchers for a period of ten years unless copied or reproduced according to the procedure prescribed in section9.01of the Revised Code. Thereafter, such vouchers may be destroyed by the treasurer upon applying to and obtaining an order from the school district records commission in the manner prescribed by section149.381of the Revised Code, except that it shall not be necessary to copy or reproduce such vouchers before their destruction.
