Membership in the state teachers retirement  system shall cease on occurrence of any of the following: receipt  of payment pursuant to section3307.56of the Revised Code or  under an STRS defined contribution plan; retirement as provided in  sections3307.58and3307.59of the Revised Code or under an STRS  defined contribution plan; death; or denial of membership pursuant  to section3307.24of the Revised Code.
