Pursuant to paragraph A of Article III of the educational compact enacted in section3301.48of the Revised Code, there shall be seven members to the educational commission of the states who shall serve from this state, one of such members shall be the governor; one member shall be a member of the senate appointed by the president; one member shall be a member of the house of representatives appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; and four members shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governor. Pursuant to paragraph A of Article III of the educational compact enacted in section3301.48of the Revised Code, there shall be seven members to the educational commission of the states who shall serve from this state, one of such members shall be the governor; one member shall be a member of the senate appointed by the president; one member shall be a member of the house of representatives appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; and four members shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governor. Two of the members appointed by the governor shall be laypersons.

The state shall pay the actual expenses of members of the Ohio commission while attending to any business of the commission. The governor shall appoint a chairperson of the Ohio members of the educational commission of the states and such membership shall meet on the call of its chairperson or at the request of a majority of its members. In any event, the membership shall meet not less often than three times annually. The membership may consider any and all matters relating to recommendations of the educational commission of the states and the activities of the members in representing this state thereon.

Pursuant to paragraph (I) of Article III of the compact the educational commission of the states shall file a copy of its bylaws and any amendment thereto with the director of education and workforce.
